Connan & The Mockasins display real experimentation towards their own special formula of blues. They have concocted songs that generate visions of summer, love, old studios with velvet couches, and all the things that ever made you want to join a rocknroll band. Seamus and Rosss rhythms wrap around each other in a warm torrent of bottom end blues explosion, while Connan's expansive and experimental control of the guitar blasts through like Hendrix, John Lee Hooker, and B B King all rolled into one. The icing on the cake being his heartfelt voice which goes from soft tuneful folk style to blasts of high pitched power with a raw energy reminiscent of Janis Joplin or a soprano Joe Cocker.
